A few of you have asked why the team at Logan Tod & Co are giving away so many tools and methodologies, and asked how can we possibly succeed commercially?

It all starts with the fundamentals of our business, the reason we exist and how we intend to make a difference. In other words, our vision and our mission.

Our Vision

We passionately believe in a fair society where digital technology, data, IOT and AI are harnessed to create a better, sustainable life for every citizen regardless of their circumstances.  

Our Mission

We help organisations that deliver positive outcomes for society undertake and succeed at digital, data, IOT and AI powered transformation. We bring passionate, committed, expert change, insights and technology teams to help our clients reimagine, reshape, build new capabilities and deliver better services and improved outcomes.

So how do we deliver?

As a team that has spent many years in the consulting industry it would be easy to adopt that business model, but we have chosen to go down a different route because we can see huge disruption coming to the consulting industry and would rather plan to thrive in the next decade.

We believe there are three important trends disrupting the consulting market like never before:

  1. Instant availability of missing knowledge reduces the need for dedicated specialists; Google and LinkedIn provide immediate access to know-how and talent.
  2. Shared online workspaces with realtime collaboration tools mean there is no need to be present at the client site all the time, and we certainly know that to be true now
  3. Specific cloud-based tools that solve a wide variety of organisational issues are available at low cost or for free, and these digital technologies can form a significant part of any change program.

Our belief is that the traditional consulting model of a Partner, a pre-canned set of methodologies and a team of bright young inexperienced junior consultants working full time at the clients’ offices will not be able to stand up to these technologically driven changes and will therefore need to adapt.

Our hypothesis is that if intellectual property is freely available, access to experts is easy and tools are low cost, then all an organisation really needs is a coach, like an athletics coach, who knows how to coach a sportsperson to achieve their goals.

We CoachA coach is a person who teaches improvement and brings a diverse set of practical skills to share with the team to enable them to drive the improvement. Coaching is all about unlocking a team’s potential to maximise their own performance.

In our view a business based on coaching clients to make change themselves will deliver better, more sustainable results at a fraction of the cost of the traditional consulting model, and this is what we are seeking to build.

So….

We believe that by giving away or open sourcing our tools and processes we can grow a community of people with a shared interest who will develop the IP further.
We believe that as a result we will develop better IP that will benefit everybody.
We believe coaches use data relentlessly and teach their team how to use it.
We believe in independence and being solution agnostic, but totally goal focussed.
We believe that in order to deliver our promises the company will need to be owned by its staff and be a certified B corp.
We believe this approach will deliver greater value, be more sustainable and will empower individuals long after we have left.
